From childhood, all of us have to spend years and years studying. We are restricted from other activities, pressurized to study. Some go with the pressure, some find a way to revolt against the pressure.

We choose our own direction. What we learn will shape our future, which is guaranteed.

In this article, I want to discuss that studying isn’t enough. Though we study under pressure from everyone around us. But, studying alone will take us nowhere. There is a tendency of the human brain to forget information that isn’t used for more than weeks. That’s why we need to keep on revising.

Studying is the first step of the process, which won’t be completed without further steps. Studying should be followed by writing what has been learned or studied. Without writing what’s been learned, the time spent studying will be waste.

It’s our brain’s nature to do so. We forget things easily if we don’t repeat them.

To retain the information that’s studied, it should be repeated and revised.

We have studied so much, tried so hard, but most of it is now gone. Looks like we did nothing in these years. Where did all that effort and hard work go? The reason is we are following the wrong guideline. Studying is not enough.

Ebbinghaus’ forgetting curve and review cycle.

Write a summary of everything that has been studied given any period of time. Check the differences. In the beginning, there’ll be lots of errors and mistakes. But, that is going to happen anyway. Mistakes can’t be avoided. It must be corrected carefully by learning the right rules.

Each student, whatever level they might be on, must learn proper techniques of studying. They can’t succeed in clearing higher-level studies using the techniques learned in schools. Learn the advanced techniques.

It will take time. But, there is no other way. Focus and dedicate the time to learn the techniques, so that the techniques learned will serve you for the best of your future.

Keep advancing.

Complete the Study-Cycle.

Briefly: Study, Write and Compare.

Keep practicing until your writing is as good as the original content.

To be continued…
